This Sherman Firefly is armed with the British 17-pounder Mk-IV-gun with a caliber of 76.2mm. Developed in response to the late war German tanks of WW2, the Firefly proved to be a very effective model.
This model with its printed parts represents the Sherman VC Firefly of the 51st Highlands Infantry Division, part of the 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry. In battles on August 8, 1944, Joe Ekins took out the German tank ace Michael Wittmann in his Firefly.- Indicated, functional suspension
