The 8.8cm FlaK 36 is probably one of the most famous guns of the Second World War! The first baptism of fire took place in the Spanish Civil War, where it was also used for the first time against armored ground targets, like tanks. They quickly noticed that this role as an anti-tank weapon was made for the 8.8. Especially against heavily armored vehicles like the Soviet "KW series" or the "Char B1" of the French, which the conventional anti-tank guns (like the 3.7cm PaK 36) could hardly penetrate, the 8.8 was often the only weapon capable of doing so. Over the years it has been used with success on almost all fronts. Therefore, the famous 8.8 should not be missing in your collection!
